Sean Gaskell and Bret Benraven

Sean Gaskell plays the 21 string West African Kora. The Olympia resident studied the instrument extensively over two visits to the Gambia in 2008 and 2012. Joining Gaskell will be Bret Benraven on the calabash. They have frequented venues in Olympia such as Traditions Cafe and the Olympia Ballroom. They have played at the Northwest Folklife Festival and the World Rhythm Festival in Seattle. Sean has played at Festivals in Gambia and Senegal in addition to venues across the United States.
