FREE CONCERT! Centralia College Jazz Band & the Sound of Swing Big Band

The Centralia College Jazz Ensemble will be joined by the Sound of Swing Big Band to give a concert on Thursday, March 16 at 7:00 pm at Corbet Theatre on the Centralia College campus. The program will include original compositions and arrangements by students Larson, Conke, Burlingame and Kilhoffer with works by the Breaker Brothers, Joe Zawinul, Johnny Mercer, Charlie Parker and Stevie Wonder. The Centralia College Jazz Ensemble class rehearses twice per week. Students learn to perform different music styles in jazz from traditional swing, be-bop, latin jazz to rock and fusion styles. Students are also given the opportunity to explore composing original songs and arranging charts for the class that are performed for the end-quarter concert.
